National Steel Car (NSC) announces the following promotions within the Marketing & Sales team, which are all effective as of January 1, 2024 and part of its long-term succession planning.
Brian B. Smalley has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Mr. Smalley joined the NSC Marketing & Sale team in October of 2015. Prior to joining National Steel Car, Mr. Smalley served as a United States Marine for over 15 years earning the rank of Captain. Following his military service, Mr. Smalley entered the rail industry and has held various positions over his 16 year career. He completed his Bachelors of Business at The Citadel in 1998, MBA at Gonzaga in 2006, and his Executive MBA at the Jack Welch Management Institute in 2019.
Jason D. Klukas has been promoted to Regional Vice President – Marketing & Sales. Mr. Klukas joined the NSC Marketing & Sale team in January of 2015. Prior to joining National Steel Car, Mr. Klukas held various positions in Sales, Marketing, Fleet Management and Customer Service over the prior 10 years, at Canadian Pacific Railway. He completed his Bachelors of Arts, majoring in Economics with a minor in Business Management at The University of Calgary. Mr. Klukas will report to Brian Smalley.
Cristian R. Olivera has been promoted to Managing Director – Marketing & Sales. Mr. Olivera joined National Steel Car in August of 1994 and has held various positions with increasing responsibility. In his new position, he will support the needs of the external Marketing and Sales team, with the preparation of all contract documentation and managing our internal Marketing & Sales team. Mr. Olivera will report to Brian Smalley.
